Discussion on Research Writing

Q 1. What is the BEST way to BEGIN the process of producing a research paper? Describe that process. (Hint - there many be several "right" answers...digest the video + article, and come up with the best answer possible!) 2. Where do I begin to FIND sources to research my topic? What KIND of sources can I use during my research? Be as specific as possible, but try to describe the sources in a way that even an elementary-school kid would understand. For example, if you're going to write, "One way to find a source is to go to primary sources," you will want to describe what a primary source is, just like you would when you teach a young kid. 3. What is a THESIS statement exactly? Is it necessary for all papers? How does one write it? What does a thesis statement contain? 4. What are some helpful things to do towards the last stages of producing a great Research Paper? In other words, describe in detail what you think a good writer should do towards the latter half of the entire essay-writing process. 5. No matter what, writing a research paper - any paper, really - can be an intimidating and scary process for some. What suggestions, tips, or tricks would you give for someone who might be very worried, concerned, or anxious about it? What advice would you give to a fellow student or to a younger person if they came to you for help?

It has been understood that in order to produce the procedure of accomplishing a research paper, first it is required to brainstorm a topic. Here, it should be mentioned that a research paper cannot be accomplished without a thesis statement through which the researcher is supposed to establish a fact. Hence, right after brainstorming a topic, the topic should be narrowed down and thereafter accumulation of secondary and primary resources will be necessary.
